Making Playgrounds Matter

Galaxy_meteor_shower_closeup Making Playgrounds Matter has become not only a business affair for me, but a personal one as well.  After years of trying to discover my focus in life, I have come to a point where I am not only selling and installing playgrounds for a living, but I plan to use the lessons learned in doing so to be a road map for my life away from the office.  I am very passionate about what I do.  God has not only given me the unique opportunity to work on playground projects in cities and towns devastated by natural disasters and playgrounds that meet the needs of children with disabilities, but I have had the joy along the way to meet with influential business leaders, pastors, teachers, PTA members and architects who are making a difference in this world.  My contact and conversations with these individuals motivates me.

Please join me along the way as I post information regarding upcoming projects and playgrounds that are "in the ground".  From time to time I may throw in a new lesson that I learned on the playground.  It is my hope that you will find the same joy I have experienced as I watch children exit a school to a new playground for the first time when reading my posts.  Watching kids discover new ways to play and interact with each other on a playground gives me inspiration and satisfaction that convinces me my career matters.

Quiktrip Park Opens!

I had the opportunity to attend the Grand Opening of the new Quiktrip Park at 41st and Riverside in Tulsa.  The facility is stunning to say the least.  In my unbiased opinion the KOMPAN equipment fits the aesthetics of the park to perfection.  Kudos to all the partners and donors.

A new "must see" in Tulsa!

Anna's See Saw is Installed!

What a blessing it was for Eric and I, along with Anna's family and friends, to help with the installation of Anna's favorite playground piece - A KOMPAN Multi-Spring See Saw.  The students of Kirkland Elementary in Oklahoma City could hardly wait for us to be done!  Many thanks to Marlo and Richard Salamy for letting us take part in this special day.

QuikTrip Plaza Park Nears Completion

I had a chance last week to stop by and take some photos of QuikTrip Plaza Park at 41st and Riverside in Tulsa.  The playground is complete and the KOMPAN equipment ties in nicely with some other "concrete forms" that were recently installed.  Stay tuned for the Grand Opening date!
